Pentair MasterTemp
pool and spa heaters are designed to be a reliable, efficient
and durable solutions to heating your pool or spa. The key to pool
or spa heating economy is combustion efficiency. Getting there requires
an optimum combination of combustion chamber design, burner assemblies
and materials, heat exchangers, and state-of-the art heater insulation.
MasterTemp
pool and spa heaters are all that and more. Available in a wide
range of sizes (200,000 btu,and 400,000 btu) and in natural gas
and propane versions. The MasterTemp heater is a new generation
pool and spa heater with all the quality features of the Max-E-Therm
but packed with extra features such as Digital Display Temperature
Controller (DDTC) and Low NOx certified to meet environmental emission
standards for Southern California (SCAQMD) and Texas.

Stage Ignition"
In addition
to the quality features of all MasterTemp series heaters such as
strong corrosion-resistant stainless steel burners, durable composite
top and headers, and a weatherproof anodized aluminum exterior,
the MasterTemp TSI incorporates a "Two Stage Ignition"
Process for a reliable positive ignition sequence and soft, dependable
flame stabilization.

series pool and spa heaters are economical to operate and heat up
very fast, due to the energy-efficient "Hot Surface" Ignition
and precise electronic temperature control. "Intelligent"
controls that sense water temperature and pressure for optimum flow
combine to maintain desired water temperature without overheating
or wasting energy. With thermal efficiency in excess of 82%, MasterTemp
heaters provide maximum efficiency and performance.

Pool heater sizing and selection guide
To select the appropriate pool or spa heater for your needs, look
at the first column of the tables below and decide how much you
want to heat up the water in 24 hours and then look up the corresponding
column for the heater BTU capacity.
The pool surface area also gives you an idea how much the heater
will raise the temperature of the water in 24 hours period. The
faster you want to heat the pool the higher the BTU rating of the
heater should be.
You may also want to check that your current natural gas pipe size
is big enough to support the specific BTU rating of the heater you're
looking to buy.
For Example: for a 250,000 btu heater that is about 40 ft away from
the gas meter and the gas line has a total of four right angle turns,
you should at least have a gas pipe size of 3/4" or bigger.
For heaters rated at more than 250,000 btu, or the distance from
the gas meter to heater is more than 50 ft. or the gas line has
more than four right angle turns (90 degree turns), consult a pool
professional before deciding on a pool heater.
